A festival crowd gathers as hot air balloons illuminate Downtown Wausau’s City Square. The Grand Theater Arts Block, music pubs, upscale dining and unique shops have turned the city’s Historic River District into an artists’ mecca.
Wausau sits at the foot of Rib Mountain State Park, whose Granite Peak Ski Area boasts luxury amenities and the Midwest’s highest vertical slope… and on the banks of Lake Wausau, where you’ll find some of Wisconsin’s best musky and walleye fishing.		The always free Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, with its internationally renowned Birds In Art exhibit, draws art lovers and bird watchers from around the world.
